How Hi3D Generates 3D Textures

De-Lighting the Source Photograph

Every photograph carries the lighting of the room it was taken in. Project that image straight onto a mesh and you get a model with a highlight painted on its cheek and a shadow painted under its chin — details that stop making sense the moment your scene light moves. Hi3D's AI 3D texture generator separates the illumination from the surface colour before baking, flattening specular hotspots and lifting cast shadows out of the albedo. What lands on the model is the material's actual colour, so your engine's own lighting rig can do its job. This single step is the difference between an asset that reads as CG and one that sits convincingly in a scene.

Automatic UV Layout

A texture is worthless without a coherent place to live. Hi3D unwraps the generated geometry into UV islands automatically, cutting seams where they are least visible and packing the islands to use the texture space efficiently rather than leaving half the map empty. Because the unwrap happens after reconstruction, the layout matches the actual topology of your model instead of being fitted to a generic template. You can open the exported texture map in any image editor and paint on it directly — logos, wear, decals — and the changes land exactly where you expect them on the surface.

PBR Output Engines Understand

The albedo map produced by the 3D texture generator follows physically based rendering conventions, which is what Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot and Three.js all expect from a base colour input. When you import the GLB, the material is wired up on arrival: no guessing which slot the texture belongs in, no gamma mismatch, no washed-out surface.
